Billing Process

 

Create a new client if they aren't already on file.

Fill in the yellow fields to complete the minimum required information.

 

 

Enroll the client in your programs on the bottom half of the form:

You use this form any time you need to add, change or delete clients and client information.

 

Create a new batch in which to enter claims. Usually this would cover a specific billing period and type of service.

Enter as many services for as many clients as you need.

In this example we keep it simple with just one client and three different services:

During data entry, SSP checks for many possible errors, validates program participations, checks for a prior authorization, and 19 other validations and required information.

Click the "Create Billing" button to generate a file for uploading to the Payer (MaineCare):

 

Review the results for correct rates and expected totals:

 

Login in to the MaineCare portal and upload the file:

 

Check the response to your upload. No "BRR" means you had no errors and all of your claims were accepted.

If you received a BRR, open the file (it's an adobe PDF) and take corrective actions.
